NEW MEMBER APPLICATION

Membership Application

Application for membership in the Dearborn County Home Builders Association is made to the Board of Directors and processed in the following manner.

1. Candidate shall submit his application in writing on a form supplied by the Dearborn County Home Builders Association containing the agreement to abide by the By-Laws and observe the Code of Ethics of this association.

2. Application shall be endorsed by at least one member in good standing (sponsor) and shall be accompanied by a payment in the amount sufficient to cover the current year in advance.

3. Application shall be submitted for consideration to the Board of Directors at a regularly scheduled meeting. If membership is approved, the President will administer the Oath at the next general meeting and promptly process all necessary documentation.

4. The Board of Directors shall investigate all applications for membership and make the decision to accept or reject each applicant.

5. When approved for membership in the local association, the application automatically becomes a member of the Indiana Builders Association and the National Association of Home Builders.

6. If the suitability of the application for membership is questioned by the Board of Directors, the application for membership shall be tabled and the sponsoring member and the applicant shall be invited to the next regular meeting of the Board of Directors for final resolution of the question.

$400.00 – Associate Membership: provider of products or services to the industry, is automatically enrolled in NAHB and IBA. Payment must accompany application. Mandatory References: Applications will not be processed unless a reference is supplied as requested.

Events/Activities:

Check with events are of interest to you; additional fees may be collected for participation.

Parade of Homes – an event promoting new construction, usually held in September, a builder must meet a criteria list before participating.
Table Top Night – an for the association; Associate members display their products and services.
Golf Outing – an activity which takes the place of the June general membership meeting.


INVOLVEMENT: For your benefit, please select at least one committee. Most committees meet at least 3-4 times a year, except where noted otherwise. Involved members become permanent members – good for you and for the association!

Board of Directors – a group of members who provide leadership and policymaking for the association; meets once a month.
Parade of Homes Committee – plans and makes policy for the event.
DCDC – monitors local, state, and national activities, which affect the industry.
Golf Outing Committee – organizes and oversees the event; meetings scheduled by committee consensus.
Membership Committee – Responsible for new and existing membership.
